Aging In Place week

For the past several years, the third week in October has been declaed "National Aging In Place" week. Govenor Gregoire has signed Proclamations endorsing this movement, to draw awareness to this concern that remains in each of the other 51 weeks of the year. Members may organize educational events throughout the year highlighting local programs and services helping seniors live independently in their homes. WAIPC will post a calendar of events in the coming months, so check back often or become a FAN of the WAIPC on Facebook for alerts on when an event will be organized in your area.

On April 21, 2009 Govenor Gregoire signed House Bill 1311 into law, commonly referred to as the "Reverse Mortgage Act. The law is designed to provide protection to Washington homeowners who want to enjoy the benefits of a reverse mortgage loan.
